NC By Train sees highest ridership in 35 years of service

RALEIGH, N.C. — More and more North Carolinians are using trains as their mode of transportation. NC By Train continues to break ridership records.

North Carolina has over 3,400 miles of rail, and more than 560 of that is for passenger rail travel, according to the North Carolina Department of Transportation.

“Our trains currently serve Raleigh to Charlotte on a several frequency a day basis,” said Jason Orthner, director of the North Carolina Rail Division. “They also we have daily trains serving Charlotte to New York City through Greensboro, Raleigh, Rocky Mount, all the way up the East Coast, through D.C.”…
