Man accused of driving 13 miles with missing tires after hit-and-run on US 70 in North Carolina

GARNER, N.C. (WNCN) — A Garner hit-and-run driver was caught by Clayton police after fleeing nearly 13 miles along US 70 in a car missing two tires Sunday morning, Garner police said.

The initial crash happened in Garner along US 70 near Jessup Drive around 8:35 a.m., closing one lane, according to the Garner Police Department and the North Carolina Department of Transportation.

A man driving a white car hit an SUV at least twice in Garner before driving away on US 70, police said. The SUV driver suffered minor injuries in the crashes and was treated at the scene, officers said.
