4 pigs to be auctioned in Chatham County

PITTSBORO, N.C. (WNCN) — Four pigs found in Chatham County earlier this month are “ready for the next chapter and a new opportunity,” the county’s animal resources division said.

According to Chatham County Sheriff’s Office Animal Resources, four pigs were found near Flint Ridge Road and Silk Hope Liberty Road in Siler City on Dec. 10. The owners were not located and the animals were not claimed, so they will now be up for public auction according to state law.

The auction is set to be held starting at 10 a.m. on Friday, Jan. 2 at the county’s Animal Resources Center, which is located at 725 Renaissance Drive in Pittsboro…
