North Carolina – Dry leaves skitter across sidewalks and flags snap sharply this morning as fire danger escalates across central parts of the state. Gusty winds and very low humidity are combining fast, creating hazardous conditions during a busy holiday travel week.
According to the National Weather Service in Raleigh, a Red Flag Warning is in effect from midday through early evening today across the Piedmont, including Raleigh, Durham, and surrounding counties.
