Greenville man arrested with stolen firearm linked to Raleigh police department

A 20-year-old Greenville man was arrested after Greenville police officers found him in possession of a stolen firearm belonging to the Raleigh Police Department.

According to online jail records, Jakyel Wooten was arrested on Dec. 31 and charged with felony possession of a stolen firearm, carrying a concealed gun, and possession of marijuana up to one-half ounce.

Arrest warrants state Wooten was found with a Smith & Wesson M&P .40 caliber handgun that was the personal property of the City of Raleigh Police Department. The firearm had been reported stolen…
