GARNER, N.C. (WNCN) — Two first responders were attacked following a crash in Wake County on New Year’s Day, warrants show.
According to a warrant filed by the North Carolina Highway Patrol, 37-year-old Jose Antonio Hernandez Escobar of Raleigh is accused of driving under the influence when he crashed his vehicle on Auburn Church Road near Garner.
Following the crash, Escobar allegedly attacked a Garner firefighter and a Wake EMS technician who were attempting to treat him. Both were injured during the incident, according to another warrant filed by the Wake County Sheriff’s Office…
