North Carolina mother speaks after fire destroys family home

DURHAM, N.C. (WNCN) — A Durham mother is working to help her family after a fire heavily damaged their home and destroyed their belongings on Friday.

The house fire was reported around 10:50 a.m. in the 1400 block of Morning Glory Avenue near East Durham, about three blocks east of N. Alston Avenue.

When crews arrived, a column of smoke and flames was coming from the rear of the home and smoke was billowing out under the front of the roof…
