Wake County is seeing the impacts of Winter Storm Fern, including snow, sleet and freezing rain. Since Saturday evening, ice on the roads has created hazardous travel conditions. More sleet and freezing rain are expected over the next 24 hours.
To help keep the public safe, Wake County will close non-essential services, including solid waste services, on Monday, Jan. 26.
