GARNER, N.C. (WNCN) — Neighbors are describing a chaotic and terrifying scene after a Cybertruck crashed into a home and sparked an hours-long police standoff Sunday afternoon in Garner.
Gabriele Folker, who lives across the street, said he heard gunshots, loud explosions, and felt his home shake as police surrounded the area, drew weapons, and later called in SWAT teams to secure the scene.
“We heard gunshots, loud booms, and then felt the house rumble. We didn’t know where it was coming from or what was happening. We didn’t know if there was a gunfight. We were just we’re fearing the worst, essentially,” he said.
Garner Police said it started Sunday afternoon about 3 p.m. on Alta Crest Lane when Nathan Tharp, 42, struck a woman with his Cybertruck and then tried to hit officers while attempting to attack her a second time…
