A vacant Raleigh apartment building off Marriott Drive caught fire for the second time this week on Wednesday, pulling firefighters back to a familiar address and into a fast-moving blaze that tore through the first floor before crews got it in check within minutes.
Fire Crews’ Swift Response
The Raleigh Fire Department said units were dispatched to the 2200 block of Charles Drive, near Marriott Drive, where arriving crews found flames showing through the first floor. Firefighters quickly went to work, knocking down visible fire, searching the structure for anyone inside and chasing hotspots while keeping neighboring units clear. As reported by CBS17, the active fire was brought under control in roughly 20 minutes.
