A two-alarm fire ripped through a roughly 200-by-50-foot commercial building in the 600 block of Rock Quarry Road in Raleigh on Sunday morning, drawing firefighters from across the city and rattling a longtime neighborhood safety net. Crews brought the blaze under control in about 45 minutes with no reported injuries, according to WRAL. The building is home to Helping Hand Mission, a long-running local nonprofit that provides food, clothing and shelter. The Raleigh Professional Fire Fighters Association later shared photos of the response and publicly praised crews for their work on the call.
