Wake County dedicates over $331,500 in McKinsey opioid funds to prevention and education

The Wake County Board of Commissioners voted this week to allocate more than $331,500 from the McKinsey & Co. opioid litigation settlement to support local efforts aimed at preventing opioid misuse.

County officials said the funding will be used for education, prevention and early intervention programs.

The money is separate from the county’s primary opioid settlement funds, which are expected to provide more than $67 million over 18 years and are subject to stricter spending requirements…
