Early Sunday on East Millbrook Road, a quiet overnight shift at a Circle K took a hard turn when an armed robber came in and left with cash, sending Raleigh police into an hours-long search of the surrounding area. Officers chased the suspect on foot but were not able to catch them, and investigators said no one was hurt. Units stayed nearby into the morning, with officers checking surrounding businesses and neighborhoods as the investigation continued.
According to WRAL, the call came in around 1 a.m., and employees told officers that money was taken during the robbery. Police say the suspect ran from the Circle K on East Millbrook Road and managed to get away during a brief foot pursuit.
