RALEIGH, N.C. (WNCN) — The recent spike in gas prices is not only affecting drivers’ wallets, but America’s farmers.
Blake Barham of Barham Family Farms said he’s already paying thousands more for diesel for different vehicles he uses and now he’s concerned about fertilizer prices.

It’s a quiet season right now for the Wake Forest farm, which grows tobacco, corn and soybeans.
“It’s kind of a transition month, but it’s here. In the next few weeks, it’s going to kick off, quote unquote,” Barham told said.
