Durham cookout brings neighbors together to talk safety, solutions

The community came together in the Bull City on Sunday for a cookout and conversation at Weaver Street Park off Cornwallis Road. The gathering comes as Durham continues to trend in a better direction when it comes to public safety, but many say more work remains.

New crime data shows promise, with both violent and property crimes down last year and more homicide cases cleared. Community members say it’s important to keep that trend moving forward.
