Wendy’s has quietly pulled the plug on three Triangle restaurants, scrubbing two Raleigh spots and one in Cary from its website and leaving at least one building boarded up. The surprise exits have taken familiar drive-thru lanes out of rotation and dropped yet another vacancy into shopping centers that were already juggling tenant turnover. The closures line up with a larger corporate plan to slim the chain’s U.S. footprint this year.
Which Triangle locations closed
As reported by the News & Observer, Wendy’s removed its listings for three Triangle restaurants: the Raleigh locations at 8209 Creedmoor Road and 4105 Wake Forest Road, both marked as removed on Dec. 15, 2025, and the Cary restaurant at 1213 N.W. Maynard Road, taken down on Jan. 14, 2026. The reporter also noted that the Wake Forest Road site had its windows boarded and barricades in place to stop drivers from pulling into the property.
