Wake County moves forward with $4.4M renovation of Historic Oak View Park

Wake County is moving forward with a major renovation project that will upgrade Historic Oak View County Park while preserving the charm of one of the county’s most visited cultural sites.

Located in East Raleigh, the park offers a look into North Carolina’s agrarian past. Now, it’s set for a series of improvements beginning in summer 2026, with completion expected by summer 2027.

The plan includes expanded parking near the Farm History Center and Livestock Barn, with space for school buses. Sidewalk connections throughout the park will also be improved to make it easier and safer for visitors to move between historic buildings…
