Hundreds of people will soon be packing the businesses and streets around the downtown area for New Year's Eve.

AUGUSTA, Ga. (WRDW/WAGT) - Georgia’s Insurance and Safety Fire Commissioner is urging residents to take safety precautions when using fireworks for New Year’s Eve celebrations. Commissioner John King said people should be aware of wind conditions when setting off fireworks, as wind can carry them into unintended areas.

Parking will be at a premium in downtown Augusta on New Year’s Eve as people prepare to celebrate the start of 2026.
