After a chilly start, temperatures are heading up across Southwest Idaho. Sunshine will help push highs near 70 Thursday before warmer air moves in Friday. Friday looks especially warm for mid-October, with Boise-area valley temperatures reaching the mid-to-upper 70s. That puts afternoon temperatures roughly 5 to 8 degrees above seasonal averages.

A new proposal would allow for nearly 20 acres of apartments next to Meridian’s newest Costco. Brighton Corp. has proposed changes to its previous development agreement for the southeast corner of the intersection of Meridian Rd. and Lake Hazel Rd. As BoiseDev reported, previous plans for the site included a Costco, a mix of office and retail space, and a residential site.

BOISE, Idaho (CBS2) — District Judge Peter Barton sentenced 38-year-old Eliseo Torres of Caldwell to life in prison with no possibility of parole for at least 20 years. BOISE, Idaho — As rodents continue to rankle residents in the Treasure Valley, the City of Boise laid out its plan to root out the rising rat rampage. In a Boise City Council meeting, Mayor Lauren McLean and Central District Health Director Kristin Ryan put forward a program highlighting four approaches to reduce rat populations.

Boise State defensive back Jeremiah Earby has entered the Transfer Portal, On3’s Pete Nakos reports. Earby, who served as a key member of Boise State‘s defense for the past two seasons, has not played in a game this year. The East Palo Alto native, who is a member of the Class of 2022, received a TRO from the 22nd Circuit Court in Washtenaw, MI to play one last season of college football. Earby’s career began at Cal, where he played from 2022-23. There, he appeared in 24 games and recorded 62 ta
