STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. — The NYPD responded to a report of an armed robbery at a gas station in Stapleton early Sunday morning. Police received a report of a robbery at 425 Vanderbilt Ave., near Targee Street and Metcalf Street, at around 1:20 a.m., according to a spokesperson for the NYPD’s Deputy Commissioner of Public Information.
