Councilman wants to give small, local music venues a break on ticket taxes
CLEVELAND, Ohio — Cleveland may soon help struggling venues by giving smaller music and entertainment spots a break on the city’s admissions tax. Legislation sponsored by Councilman Kris Harsh would exempt live entertainment venues that sell 750 tickets or less from admissions tax. Currently, Cleveland collects a 4% fee on any tickets sold at venues with a capacity between 150 and 750.
