GAINESVILLE, Fla. (WCJB) - Karen Melvin teaches 1st grade at Norton Elementary School in Gainesville. Ms. Melvin has been teaching elementary schoolers for 33 years. She spent time in the classroom in many North Central Florida counties, including Bradford and Levy, and has spent the last 17 years in Alachua County.
