Three-alarm Newark fire engulfs multiple buildings; 59 residents displaced
Newark firefighters responded to a fire at approximately 10:27 p.m. Friday along 196 Jefferson St. The fire spread to four surrounding buildings and was deemed a third alarm fire at 1:05 a.m. Over 100 firefighters battled the flames. It was deemed under control at 3:24 a.m., according to Newark officials.
