GATES, NY — A larceny suspect fleeing from police was struck and killed by a vehicle on Interstate 390 southbound near the Lyell Avenue overpass Tuesday afternoon. The incident occurred at approximately 12:10 p.m. when Gates police were pursuing a suspect who had fled from a nearby retail store on foot.
