A 42-year-old Alton woman was killed Wednesday after being struck by a vehicle in Belleville, and the driver fled, police said. Tameka L. Glastie was pronounced dead at the scene at 11:35 a.m., St. Clair County Coroner Calvin Dye Sr. said. Officers responded about 10:30 a.m. to the 9800 block of West Main Street. Thousands of Medicare Advantage patients across Kansas City and St. Louis are being warned that their longtime hospital system will no longer accept their Aetna coverage starting January 1, 2027.
