WEST JORDAN, Utah, May 8, 2026 (Gephardt Daily) — A Silver Alert issued for a 70-year-old West Jordan man who went missing Thursday evening has been canceled. The man had last been seen about 6 p.m. after leaving the area near 7700 S. 4900 West in West Jordan in a white Chevrolet Malibu.

Shooting forces Bangerter Highway closed in West Jordan

WEST JORDAN, Utah (KUTV) — Bangerter Highway closed near West Jordan due to a shooting, according to the Utah Department of Transportation. One person was mildly injured. Southbound Bangerter Highway closed at 7800 South. Northbound Bangerter Highway closed at 9000 South. UDOT estimated they would be closed for about an hour as officials investigated the scene.
