SARASOTA COUNTY, Fla. (WWSB) - A 34-year-old woman from New Port Richey was killed in a crash early Sunday morning on Interstate 75 in Sarasota County, according to the Florida Highway Patrol. Troopers say the crash happened around 12:08 a.m. in the northbound lanes of I-75 near mile marker 178.

This week, Manatee County Commissioners sent an egregiously generous contract proposal to perpetually extend the employment of County Administrator Charlie Bishop back to the drawing board.
