Woman killed in early morning crash on I-75 in Sarasota County
SARASOTA COUNTY, Fla. (WWSB) - A 34-year-old woman from New Port Richey was killed in a crash early Sunday morning on Interstate 75 in Sarasota County, according to the Florida Highway Patrol. Troopers say the crash happened around 12:08 a.m. in the northbound lanes of I-75 near mile marker 178.

BOCC Should Not Give Bishop Cadillac Contract Ahead of Elections
This week, Manatee County Commissioners sent an egregiously generous contract proposal to perpetually extend the employment of County Administrator Charlie Bishop back to the drawing board. While I’m glad a majority of commissioners were unwilling to sign off on such unwarranted largesse, I think the real conversation needs to be whether they should renew Bishop’s contract in the first place.

Manatee Avenue Turns Into Parade Parking Lot for De Soto Spectacle
Downtown Bradenton is set to slow to a crawl on Saturday, April 25, as the De Soto Grand Parade takes over Manatee Avenue West. The illuminated evening procession, expected to draw thousands of spectators, will bring a wave of barricades, detours and shoulder-to-shoulder crowds along the parade route and across the Green Bridge well into the night.
