Several thousand without power in Arlington after storms
Update at 10:50 p.m. — The outage count in Arlington is up to 4,266 homes and businesses, according to Dominion’s website. In addition to outages in neighborhoods near Crystal City, another large outage is being reported northwest of Ballston, around Virginia Hospital Center and the High View Park neighborhood.
NOW: Nearly 11K without power in Alexandria after severe thunderstorm
There are more than 50 power outage projects affecting more than 10,800 homes in Alexandria, after the city and region were battered by a severe thunderstorm. As of 9:15 p.m., Dominion Energy reported 10,833 customers without power across 50 separate projects. “Thunderstorms may contain damaging wind gusts,” NWS said.
