On Oct. 10, the Baton Rouge Police Department responded to Edwards Auto Repair Shop at 2762 Scenic Hwy at 2 p.m. in response to a shooting and found the victim with a gunshot wound on his right middle finger and two dogs with gunshot wounds. A 58-year-old Tickfaw man sustained non-life threatening injuries when he was struck by a northbound passenger train Monday night in Tickfaw. Police Chief Frank DiBenedetto said the man was sitting on the gravel on the side of the track, leaning against the rail while talking on his phone when he was struck by an Amtrak train at approximately 7:30 p.m. The chief said the incident happened about a half mile north of the Highway 442 crossing.
