Plane crashes near Oak Island Pier

OAK ISLAND, N.C. (WECT) - A small airplane crashed in the ocean near the Oak Island Pier at around 7:30 p.m. on Saturday, according to town officials. We’re told only the pilot was on board and was treated on shore for non-life-threatening injuries. The plane was recovered and towed out of the water.
