Restored crypt wall preserves Oak Shade Cemetery’s 1840s history for future generations

MARION, Iowa — City officials and community members gathered Thursday at Oak Shade Cemetery to celebrate the completion of a restoration project for the cemetery’s historic crypt wall.

The City of Marion hosted a ribbon-cutting ceremony at the cemetery, located at 789 Second Ave., marking the completion of repairs to the deteriorating structure.
