Police: Solon man invaded elderly man’s home and assaulted him after asking for charcoal

A Solon man was arrested Saturday on charges of burglary, robbery and assault after he shoved his way into the home of a man who wouldn’t give him charcoal, according to the Johnson County Sheriff’s Office.

Jacob A. Ray, 33, of rural Solon, walked to the elderly man’s house to ask for charcoal at about 7:40 p.m. After the man told him no, Ray became irate and shoved the entry door open, hitting the man with the door, according to a criminal complaint.

After walking inside, Ray is accused of throwing things and pushing the man to the floor…
