Shots fired near Lindale Mall carnival; police find shell casing, no injuries reported

CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa — Cedar Rapids police is investigating a shots-fired incident reported near carnival grounds at the Lindale Mall on the city’s northeast side.

An officer reported hearing gunfire in the vicinity of the 4400 block of First Avenue NE at about 9:02 p.m. Sunday, according to the Cedar Rapids Police Department.

Officers responding to the area located a shell casing, police said. No injuries or property damage were reported…
