WEST BRANCH, Iowa — Authorities identified the victim of a fatal house fire near West Branch as William Rung, 67, of West Branch.
The fire was reported at 4:29 a.m. Friday at a residence located at 3539 Johnson Cedar Road NE, according to the Johnson County Sheriff’s Office. Deputies and firefighters from several area departments arrived at the scene at 4:43 a.m. and found the two-story, single-family home fully engulfed in flames.
