MECHANICSVILLE — A new restaurant and bar is filling a need in Mechanicsville.
Charley Rae’s, a new restaurant and bar opened June 3 at 211 E. First St., gives the Cedar County town a place to eat out again. The new offering by longtime Cedar Rapids bartender Shawnee Starz fills the void left by the closure of Mechanicsville’s last watering hole, Rusty Rench, in October 2024.
