WASHINGTON — Iowa will receive $34 million in federal funding from the Federal Emergency Management Agency for storm recovery projects in Polk, Linn, Tama, Clay and Sioux counties, according to an announcement welcomed by U.S. Sen. Chuck Grassley.
Grassley, R-Iowa, said the grants will support communities working to recover from severe storms, including more than $25 million for Cornell College.
The largest award listed is $25,624,229.79 for Cornell College for emergency stabilization work at King Chapel. Officials said the funding is for emergency protective measures tied to the 2020 derecho, which created an immediate threat to property and to public health and safety…
