Fireworks stand workers report record sales, theft ahead of Fourth of July

CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa (KCRG) – Fireworks stand workers in the Cedar Rapids area said this year has been one of their best for sales, but some employees have also had to deal with theft attempts in the days leading up to the Fourth of July.

An employee at a Wild Willy’s Fireworks stand on the Southwest side of Cedar Rapids said the location has already sold a lot of product.

“We’ve already sold about $80,000 so it’s been pretty good. We’re probably selling close to maybe $10,000 a day,” said Phil Rouse, a worker at the stand…
