Cedar Rapids man charged after allegedly breaking into home, stealing handgun

CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa — A Cedar Rapids man is facing multiple charges after police say he broke into a northeast Cedar Rapids home and stole several items, including a handgun, while someone was inside.

According to a criminal complaint, 31-year-old Adrian Pereira is charged with first-degree burglary while possessing a dangerous weapon, trafficking stolen weapons and carrying a dangerous weapon while ineligible.
