IOWA CITY, Iowa — The number of people seeking an open seat on the Iowa City Community School District board has grown to nine as Wednesday’s application deadline approaches.
The district’s website lists Alisa Meggitt, Drake Riddle, Audrey Moeller, Sam Helmick, Peter Byler, Kent Christen, Michael Hamelton, Doug Kollasch and Kyle Jacobsen as applicants for the position.
Applications will be accepted until 4 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 9. The district plans to appoint a new board member during a special meeting at 6 p.m. Sept. 15. The person selected will serve through the next school board election in November 2027…
