Linn County landfill can now reject large amounts of waste containing recyclable, banned materials

CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa (KCRG) – The Cedar Rapids Linn County Solid Waste Agency can now reject large commercial trash loads containing recyclable or banned materials as it works to preserve space in its rapidly filling landfill.

The agency’s board unanimously approved the resolution Tuesday. The change follows reports that construction at the Google and QTS data center sites generated more than 40 million pounds of waste over the past year.
