FEMA approves more than $14M for Iowa disaster recovery, mitigation projects

WASHINGTON, D.C. — FEMA has approved more than $14 million in federal funding for Iowa projects tied to disaster recovery and future flood mitigation.

The awards are part of nearly $29 million in Public Assistance and Hazard Mitigation Grant Program funding announced Friday for Iowa, Kansas, Missouri and Nebraska.

Cornell College in Mount Vernon will receive more than $10 million for permanent repairs to historic King Chapel. The city of Rock Valley will receive more than $3.8 million for permanent repairs to its maintenance and storage buildings…
