NEWTON, Iowa — A Cedar Rapids high school bowling coach has been sentenced to up to 17 years in prison after pleading guilty to charges stemming from an online sting targeting suspected predators.
Scott Richard Bader pleaded guilty Monday in Jasper County District Court to two counts of grooming, enticing a minor under 16 for a sexual purpose and phone dissemination of obscene material to a minor.
The court sentenced Bader to up to five years in prison on each of the three felony convictions and up to two years on the aggravated misdemeanor charge. The sentences will run consecutively, for a total term not to exceed 17 years…
