On Wednesday, the Cedar Rapids Police Department hosted a scam awareness presentation talking about the various scams they have seen and how to not fall victim to them. CRPD says people should be on the lookout for unsolicited phone calls, emails and text messages that ask for personal information or money and make sure you take a step back to verify the legitimacy of the source of said message and don’t send any money before confirming said legitimacy.
