CEDAR RAPIDS, IA – According to a press release issued by the Cedar Rapids Police Department on Thursday, January 25, 2024, a tragic incident unfolded on Wednesday, January 24, 2024, at 8:59 p.m., when the Cedar Rapids Joint Communications Agency received a report of an injured person at 1258 15th St SE.
According to the press release, responding officers discovered a 29-year-old male victim outside the building, where emergency medical care was administered with the assistance of Cedar Rapids Firefighters and Area Ambulance Service personnel.
Despite their efforts, the victim was later pronounced dead at a local hospital, authorities are withholding the victim’s name pending notification of family members.
An active and ongoing investigation is underway to determine the circumstances surrounding this unfortunate incident.
