Exceptional warmth continues, before rain and storm chance brings change

CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa (KCRG) – Records will likely fall in at least some places through Thursday as an unprecedented warm streak continues. A few areas of patchy fog could take place this morning, especially in east central and southeast Iowa. Most of us, though, will just start out with widespread sunshine, and keep that going for at least a few hours after sunrise. Eventually, more clouds will move in, but they will likely be patchy enough to allow some sunshine through for most of us. Highs today will be quite similar to yesterday, with upper 40s to mid 50s likely. These temperatures could break records in some spots, specifically Waterloo and Iowa City. Winds will come from a southerly or southeasterly direction today, but should stay fairly light.
