John Waithe and the Chinese Lunar New Year are just a few things to do in Iowa City this weekend

Whether searching for something new or needing to cross an item off the bucket list, Iowa City is the place to be this weekend.

From iconic shows to cultural events, here are four things to check out Feb. 9-11:

John Waite at The Englert

Best known for best known for the 1984 hit single “Missing You,” John Waite of Bad English is bringing his tour “40 Years of Missing You” tour to Iowa City. Rock out with one of the most successful rockstars of the 80s at the historic Englert Theatre on Feb. 9. Tickets are available for $45.

Bawdy Bawdy Ha Ha for BAWDY HEAT

Bawdy Bawdy Ha Ha is a burlesque show bringing Moulin Rouge to Iowa City on Saturday, Feb. 10. Bawdy The performance embodies what fire can be, from hot to steamy. This dance number features some of the best dancers and performers from across the Midwest. Tickets are on sale ranging from $30 to $50 on the James Theater website.

Gimme Gimme Disco

Looking for a man after midnight? The Gimme Gimme Disco at Gabe’s might be the perfect opportunity. This DJ dance party is inspired by the stream of hits from the band Abba as well as other top songs from the 1970s. Tickets for the party on Saturday, Feb. 10 cost $17, with doors opening at 8 p.m. The show starts at 9 p.m.
