A Cedar Rapids man was arrested after allegedly assaulting the mother of his child. The incident occurred just after 8pm Tuesday. 32-year-old Taylor Welsh of Glass Road Northeast and the mother were reportedly intoxicated and began to argue. Witnesses on scene stated that the argument escalated, and that Welsh kicked, punched and slammed the woman’s head into a door. At one point, he had his hands around the woman’s neck, choking her. The woman reportedly corroborated the narrative and said that it was hard for her to breathe when Welsh was choking her.
