City Manager Ryan Waller has shared a weekly update on Marion’s activities and developments. The update acknowledged the city’s Mayor and Marion’s recent award as Community of the Year by the Corridor Business Journal. The city’s success was credited to community efforts.
The Central Plaza Project fundraising campaign began this week, organized by the Marion Park & Recreation Foundation. The event, supported by Rinderknecht Associates and Uptown Snug, marked the raising of nearly $850,000 towards the $1.3 million goal. The project is expected to benefit Marion and the nearby region. Marion Mayor Nick AbouAssaly, Chamber President Jill Ackerman, Rinderknecht Associates representatives, and Al Rowe from the Park & Recreation Foundation spoke at the event.
Lieutenant Zach Bruce completed the Managing Officer Program at the National Fire Academy (NFA). The multi-year course, located in Emmitsburg, Maryland, includes five prerequisite courses and four NFA courses. The program focuses on change management, risk reduction, and adaptive leadership, ending with a community-based project.
