An area transient was taken into custody earlier this week after multiple reports of public drunkenness. 37-year-old Mancel Murphy was located on the 1800 block of Boyrum Street Wednesday at around 6:25pm after being called in for the third time in an hour for undisclosed reasons. Upon contact, he showed measurable signs of intoxication, including bloodshot watery eyes, slurred speech and a strong odor of ingested alcohol. Murphy agreed to a PBT and showed a BAC of .169 percent.
