CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa (KCRG) – Officials have released more details regarding a lengthy standoff that occurred in Benton County on Saturday. On June 29th, 2024, at approximately 8:23 pm, the Benton County Sheriff’s Office responded to Highway 30 near 31st Ave for a report of an erratic driver heading eastbound. Officials arrived to locate a gray Kia Telluride and attempted to conduct a traffic stop for a speeding violation.
